Fired Boilers - Keeping Warm for Less

When it comes to heating your home in the winter months there are many different options, the most popular of which has for many years been some form of central heating.

In years gone by oil fired boilers that created hot water or steam that was then pumped throughout the house of business and into a series of radiators was considered the best form of heating. In the bigger towns and cities the oil boiler gave way to the gas fired boiler as natural gas pipes were laid and this relatively inexpensive fuel became readily available.

In recent years the price of natural gas has steadily risen to the point where it is no longer the cheap source of heat that it once was.

This has led to a resurgence of oil fired boilers that are far more environmentally friendly and fuel efficient than their predecessors ever dreamed of. Many of them like the Weil McLain boilers are rated as being anywhere from 85 to 95% efficient and as such, pump far less in toxic fumes into the atmosphere than ever before.

The best fired boilers, whether using gas or oil are the condensing combination boilers that use a condenser placed in such a way as to capture the heat that would normally go up the flue and use it to boost the overall efficiency of the whole system. This type of system has been proven to save you as much as 30% in your annual heating bill. The other half of the combi boiler is the tankless hot water supply, no longer will you have a hot water tank wasting energy staying hot for those times of the day when you need it, instead you get all year round endless hot water on demand.

The modern fired boiler central heating system is proving once and for all that it we can learn from the past and apply it to the future. With the new boilers it has become cheaper than ever to keep our families warm all winter long.
