Wood Boilers

The return of wood heating to the forefront is probably due to the development of materials,
fuel and to recent environmental awareness.
The selection of your boiler will be made according to your quantity and quality needs. One
thing is certain: the choice of wood is a sustainable, environmentally friendly and inexpensive, when
compared to other fuels. The principles of a boiler, is to heat a volume of water which will then be
forwarded through radiators or even through heated floors.
Unlike stoves, boilers can heat water and can therefore prove to be perfect complements to your
solar water heaters. You can choose from manual systems, semi-automatic or even automatic boilers, it all
depends on your lifestyle and on your budget.
From a functional point of view, few operations are performed after the installation.
Carefully consider the space you have for your boiler and your boiler fuel, along with a means of access should you
need it. Another element that should be part of the selection criteria in your decision-making is
regulation.
A boiler with a control mode should increase in performance and power. Inevitably, your boiler
will manage the right amount of power if it’s equipped with a regulator and properly calibrated. If it’s not,
your installer will calculate the power required, depending on your volume, your insulation (and the inherent
losses), other heat inputs and so on. The price of a boiler, even if lowered by tax credits or subsidies of
any kind, remains important because it’s a purchase for the long term.
Manual boiler loading
Reverse burning wood boilers get appropriate returns of about 55 to 70%. These boilers can also
be equipped with a turbine, which regulates the air supply or extracts fumes. Many professionals
recommend connecting these boilers to a "hydro accumulation” balloon in order to optimise performance and to
regulate the heat, rather than doing it directly to the radiators.
Auto load boilers
Automatic platelets or granules are the main form of fuel for boilers. The more advanced boilers
are developing fast on the market. They combine advanced technology, performance (75 to 90% efficiency) and
flexibility. These boilers are fully automated and never require manuall feeds.
Automatic boiler platelets
You can supply the amount of fuel you need, according to the heat you want. The boilers
can operate with a variety of fuels, offering a very high level of comfort and safety. This fuel is first extracted
from the silo by a system of screws that take it into the boiler furnace.
